Randy Boyd

Randy Boyd is the owner and lead investigator of Boyd Investigative Group, LLC.  He is a 4th generation Sarasota resident and retired as a Lieutenant from the Sarasota Police Department with 27 years of active service. Throughout his career, he served in many divisions within the Department, including the role as General Assignment Detective where he investigated a wide variety of crimes including thefts and homicides.

He received further training in Advanced Practical Homicide Investigations, Advanced Crisis Intervention, Sex Crimes Investigations, Advanced Interview Techniques, Active Shooter Training, and numerous other law enforcement areas of expertise. However, some of his proudest achievements were passing his knowledge on to fellow officers. He is particularly proud of being an instructor of firearms, SAGE, taser, AR-15, officer survival and serving as a field training officer and coordinator.

In addition to his assignments as a patrolman and supervisor, he also served with the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, which was a cooperative effort between the Sarasota Police Department, the FBI, ATF, FDLE, Manatee and Sarasota County Sheriffs’ Offices and Bradenton Police Department. The Task Force targeted violent crimes within the Middle District of Florida.

During his free time, Randy enjoys hunting, fishing and golf.

Eugene "CHIP" Halsey

Chip Halsey is a 48 year resident of Sarasota and retired as a Sergeant from the Sarasota Police Department with 30 years of active service. He has extensive training in criminal investigations and surveillance techniques as an officer, detective and Narcotics Unit Supervisor.

He has planned and supervised many covert, undercover operations employing his tactical experience. Chip’s experience includes service with the Patrol Division, Community Resource Team, SWAT, FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, Street Crimes Unit and Narcotics Division. 

Throughout his service with the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force and Narcotics Unit, Chip has worked with various local, state and federal agencies to include FDLE, FBI, DEA, ATF and the Department of Homeland Security coordinating efforts on long term investigations. Chip is a proactive investigator and is result driven

Norman Reilly

Norman Reilly has a Bachelor's Degree in Criminology and over 20 years of law enforcement experience with the Sarasota Police Department. Norman has extensive training and experience in criminal investigations both as an Investigator and as an Investigative Supervisor.

He has investigated everything from burglary to homicide, and has actively supervised numerous sensitive, high-profile media-attention cases. Norman's experience includes service with the Patrol Division, Crimes Against Property Section, Crimes Against Persons Section, Narcotics Section, Tactical Unit, Underwater Search and Recovery Team and SWAT Team.

Eight years working undercover in the Narcotic Division has provided Norman with experience with both visual and electronic surveillance. It has also provided Norman with expertise in working long term investigations with other agencies such as the FBI, DEA, ICE (formally US Customs) and the US Attorney's Office. Norman is organized and methodical. Norman has received numerous citations, awards, and commendations for his investigative work while at the Sarasota Police Department.
